‘Am I breathing me? Who is breathing? Breathing is happening…’
Byron Katie

Underpinning my work is an exploration of what it is to be human, inviting people into an experience of themselves; playing at the boundary between who we are and who we think we are. I’m intrigued by the ‘undecidability’ of boundaries (self/other, private/public, spectator/performer) and the complexity of relationship – our need and wanting of others, the joy and comfort to be had along with the potential for confusion and suffering.

The furniture pieces invite viewers to cross a boundary and interact directly with the artwork. They offer the possibility of a heightened experience of self within a social space. The film (in part) reflects on the richness and complexity of what might be going on in the inner world when little is apparently happening.
