Caroline’s work explores a material relationship with the natural world through both image making and sculpture. Often beginning with walking, collecting and engaging physically with natural objects and environments as a process of orientation, she then goes on to use imagery and documentation from the collecting and making process to create drawings, prints and sculptural installations.
Caroline Inckle graduated from Moray school of Art in 2012. Recent exhibitions include: RE:Production, solo show at 1 Royal terrace Glasgow (2014) Hidden Door Festival, Market St Edinburgh (2014) and RSA New Contemporaries at the Royal Scottish Academy Edinburgh (2013). During 2013 Caroline also took part in residencies at The Scottish Sculpture workshop and Inshriach bothy. Awards include the David and June Gordon memorial trust award (2013) and the HI-Arts award for artists and makers (2012 & 2013). In 2011 Caroline co founded Sidedoor studios, a creative hub and shared workspace for emerging artists based in North East Scotland.
